Integrated Developmental Trauma Treatment: An Experiential Training For Therapists

Monday 11 – Friday 15 May 2026
From £3210 / $4430

Join Sarah Bridge and Tracy Northampton for a five-day training for therapists, at The Falcon, Castle Ashby.

Integrated Developmental Trauma Treatment is a comprehensive professional training for mental health clinicians seeking a clear, effective, and experiential roadmap for assessing and treating childhood relational and developmental trauma.

This training offers a structured and deeply relational approach to trauma work—one that strengthens clinician confidence while prioritizing client safety and nervous system regulation.

The model integrates the foundational work of Pia Mellody’s childhood relational trauma framework and Post-Induction Therapy (PIT) with key theoretical and clinical influences, including Attachment and Family Systems theories, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems.

Together, these approaches form a coherent, clinically precise model designed to support more efficient and lasting resolution of developmental trauma.

Clinicians are provided with a clear framework for:

  • Accurate assessment of developmental and attachment-based trauma patterns
  • Thoughtful treatment goals and planning for complex developmental presentations
  • Experiential interventions that maintain relational safety and nervous system stability

Particular emphasis is placed on identifying developmental trauma as it shows up in the body, beliefs, and relationships—while pacing experiential work in a way that prevents overwhelm and supports sustainable change.

This training is ideal for therapists who:

  • Work with clients impacted by childhood emotional neglect, abuse, or attachment disruption
  • Feel unsure how to assess developmental trauma or pace experiential work safely
  • Want a cohesive framework that integrates relational, somatic, and parts-based approaches

Participants will also engage in a practicum component, offering opportunities to both experience and practice structured experiential interviewing and debriefing techniques within a supportive learning environment.

Designed for clinicians working with attachment trauma, complex PTSD, and early relational wounding.

What Makes This Model Unique

  • Experiential assessment as a core process, not just diagnosis—using structured interviewing to identify trauma patterns as they live in the body, belief system, and relational field
  • Precision and pacing in experiential work, helping clinicians intervene effectively without overwhelming the nervous system
  • Relational repair embedded directly into trauma resolution, rather than treated as a separate phase
  • A clear clinical sequence—assessment → treatment goals → experiential intervention → integration—reducing confusion in complex cases
  • A balance of structure and relationship, allowing for deep experiential work while maintaining containment, safety, and ethical boundaries
