Join certified psychotherapist Michele Morphitis for a transformative four-night retreat designed to help you transform loss into joy and return home to yourself.

Throughout life, we leave things behind – people we have loved, places that once felt like home, relationships, dreams, identities and chapters of life that can never be revisited. We also lose parts of ourselves along the way – our innocence, spontaneity, sense of purpose, belonging or wonder.

However, these losses do not simply disappear. They return in unexpected ways – a familiar song, an old photograph, a remembered story, a place revisited, or a forgotten aspect of ourselves rediscovered – and continue to shape our inner world. Michele has named this phenomenon The Return of the Lost Loved Object.

Just as trauma is more than an event – it is a wound that leaves behind loss, fragmentation and disconnection – healing is about more than recovering from what happened. It is about recognising what was lost, knowing what to leave behind, and choosing what we wish to carry forward. This retreat is an invitation to do exactly that – to explore these losses with curiosity and compassion, and to discover how they can be transformed into a source of meaning, renewal and joy.

Drawing on psychoanalytic theory, narrative therapy, the archetypes of the collective unconscious, Michele will guide you through an exploration of personal and ancestral narratives – not to revisit old pain, but to reclaim what has been lost and create an inner home aligned with your deepest values and sense of purpose.

After this transformative experience, and having reclaimed the parts of yourself that were formerly lost, you’ll leave feeling refreshed and recalibrated, and ready to change the trajectory of your life. Your renewed clarity and self-understanding will allow you to move through life with a deeper connection to yourself, others and the world around you.

The retreat schedule features a forest therapy experience with our co-founder Tracy Northampton and a heritage walk – which closes at our newly created labyrinth – hosted by our co-founder Spenny Northampton, as well as free time for you to take to yourself or delve deeper into your reflections that have arisen during the experience. If you feel called to, you can also enjoy a swim in our open-water swimming lake or book bodywork treatments for an additional cost.

Though all are welcome on this retreat, it may particularly appeal to those who are navigating grief, burnout, recovery, stress, uncertainty, life transitions. This intimate retreat has space for no more than twelve participants to ensure that every guest gets the most out of their experience.
